Senior Mobile Access Network Quality Expert

Telekom experts develop & design the next-generation technologies that change how our network users connect, communicate and interact with information and one another. As a part the Deutsche Telekoms service unit, an international team of experts is responsible to support local best network quality at highest efficiency. The team is achieving this by development of planning & optimization guidelines, supported by processes and tool recommendations. The team provides harmonized Quality and Capacity related services, is probing and monitoring network quality and service performance. Upon request we are running network assessments and optimization projects.


  • Support of DT’s affiliates in all Network Quality related aspects
  • Special optimization support with focus on performance, performance monitoring, radio parameters and related projects
  • Responsible to develop technical documentation and guidelines for network optimization
  • Analysis and improvement of optimization processes with a focus on quality, efficiency and automation
  • Evaluate and drive KPI definition/harmonization, KPI reporting and KPI analyses process
  • Project management for related projects and/or General Project *Management for RN Projects
  • Leading expert teams and making / driving decisions in a complex international environment.
  • Communication towards Management, provide decision requests and escalate appropriate and goal-directed.
  • Deal with ad hoc tasks of high importance and with high time pressure.
  • Achieving a high Radio Network quality and substantial cost reduction / efficiency gain in an environment with fast technological developments, high market demands and steep traffic/usage growth
  • Cope with different expectations, knowledge, structures, processes and cultures across all European markets.
  • Competence building within the department on industry innovations in order to roll out new products and services and increase robustness of the networks.
  • Anticipate upcoming changes and needs within his area of responsibility, raise to the attention of the responsible bodies.


  • University degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on *Communication Technology with several years of work experience or comparable vocational education with long-time work experience.
  • Ability to learn new technologies (e.g. NB-IOT, 5G) fast and on the job
  • Good language skills (written & spoke) in English
  • High level of personal responsibility, self-motivating, open minded behavior
  • Very good strategic and analytical thinking
  • Min. 5 years business experience in mobile communications
  • Good experience with project management methods
  • Ability to lead international / virtual expert teams
  • Strong negotiation skills and conflict management
  • Ability to steer and drive vendors
  • Ability to drive decisions within a matrix organisation


  • Very good knowledge regarding air interface of 2G / 3G / 4G and ability to adopt to NB-IOT and 5G
  • Very good knowledge regarding 2G/3G/4G radio system principles, algorithms and parameters
  • Good knowledge regarding Air Interface measurement and post processing tools
  • Good knowledge regarding performance measurements and interface traces
  • Good knowledge regarding radio planning and E2E quality optimization processes and methods
  • Knowledge in Radio Propagation, prediction methods and RF / Radio planning tools
  • Knowledge regarding passive probe and test systems and related post processing
  • Knowledge about Core Network, IP, Transmission etc.
  • Knowledge about IT services (Mail, Browsing, Videostreaming, …)
  • Broad and good understanding of telecommunication architectures and all generations of 3GPP mobile technologies including GSM, EDGE, UMTS, LTE, …
